1. Register early and often ( SORRY-cross the last part off- couldn't resist)
2. The bride and groom register for the wedding gifts together 
3. Register for whatever wedding gift you want ( a silver tea set... a camping stove). If you are informal don't pick sterling silver flatware for example.
4. Think about where you live (Is there a Pottery Barn in town or is it only online and many of your older wedding guests can't use a computer) or you have chosen boutiques that don't have online options for ordering at 2 am for example.
5. Think about the store's return policies
6. Make sure you hit a variety of prices (Everyone cannot afford that silver tea set)
7. Be considerate of your guests
8. Update often (to give your guests variety if the only items left are expensive or CHEAP)
